The Astros and Rangers are finalizing a deal that will send Ivan Rodriguez back to the Rangers for 2 minor leaguers. Rodriguez will go back to a contending team but will have to give up starting duties in order to do so. He will back up Taylor Teagarden.
Humberto Quintero is likely the Astros starting catcher with JR Towles being brought up to be the 2nd catcher. Towles is hitting .287 for the Round Rock Express with 3 homers and 17 RBI.
